Heartbreak in Peshawar: Mourning the Loss of a Senior Defense Official in the Tragic Jalil Kabab House Attack. A somber day as we stand united against the echoes of violence. |
A senior defense official was killed and three others were injured in a blast inside Jalil Kabab House, a restaurant in Peshawar's Firdous Bazaar. The blast, believed to be targeted by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), occurred around 9 pm.
The bomb, placed under a table, caused damage to parts of
the hotel building. According to police, the deceased, Dr. Muhammad Shaib, was
a senior officer in the Ministry of Defense and a regular customer at the
restaurant. Three others, including a hotel worker and two tourists, were also
injured.
The TTP claimed responsibility for the attack in a
statement, citing it as opposition to the federal government's ongoing peace
talks with the militant group.
Police have secured the area and launched search
operations. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the blast, vowing
to continue the fight against terrorism and offering prayers for the speedy
recovery of the injured.
